KYC – Job Description
Assistant Front of House Manager


Work Environment:
The primary focus of this position is to provide support to the Front of House Manager and Management Team at KYC. The work environment involves assisting others in handling fluctuating workloads and meeting tight deadlines. The successful applicant will be a self-starter and will demonstrate good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Position Summary
The role of Assistant Front of House Manager is an integral position within the Food and Beverage department and is ultimately responsible for the smooth delivery of food and beverage service and all that it entails within the designated area.
The incumbent will also be responsible for collaborating on food and beverage menu product and design.
The incumbent will be responsible for weekly and monthly inventory, reporting daily sales, and ordering requirements and ensuring member satisfaction is delivered and maintained according to Club service standards. In addition, is responsible for scheduling staff according to business demands and budget requirements and training staff on health and safety policies and procedures, club service standards and food and beverage menus.

Requirements:
• Professional Hospitality credentials at a University or College an asset
• Three years experience in a similar environment
• Strong managerial and leadership skills
• Excellent knowledge of food and superior knowledge of wines, beers and spirits
• Ability to work under pressure, make good decisions and have strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent computer skills, knowledge of JONAS POS system an asset
• Serving it Right certificate
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including: weekends, holidays and special events, irregular days off and start times
• First Aid, CPR and AED certified (or willing to attain)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Physically able to perform functions of this job, including: working on your feet throughout your entire shift, working in a hot, humid and demanding environment and physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs.) etc.

Key Responsibilities
• Quote and negotiate pricing within established parameters and process contracts
• Manage liquor and beverage inventory
• Act as a highly visible ambassador for the Club and ensure members & guests have positive memorable experiences
• Provide leadership to the overall operations of the F&B services and to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
• Manage, hire and train front of house staff
• Develop and foster a stellar team by providing training, motivation and performance management of employees in an effort to ensure high levels of satisfaction
• Respond to all employee and member inquiries, complaints and issues with a sense of urgency. Handle complaints with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Recommend budgetary requirements for the operation and achieve established goals
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with all stakeholders (internal & external)
• Ensure that all services are professional and timely and meet the Club's service standard objectives
• Ensure the cleanliness standards of the serving area and dining room are maintained at a high level
• Maintain security protocols at opening and closing
• Collaborate on food and beverage menus
• Promote and sell club food and beverage services by responding to member and non-member inquiries.
• Respond to seasonal fluctuation in business with appropriate scheduling of staff
• Ensure cash outs are completed accurately and train all servers on proper process
• Provide disciplinary actions where appropriate
• Ensure all HR forms are completed and payroll reports filed
• Ensure all staff are aware of safety regulations and requirements
